We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Theophilus I. Emeto from James Cook University, Townsville, Australia, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Complementary and Integrative Medicine. Dr. Theophilus I. Emeto completed a BSc (Hons) degree in Medical Physiology from the University of Calabar, where he defined prediction formulae for lung function parameters in Nigerian children aged 6 to 16 years. He graduated with Distinction in MSc Immunology and Allergy from the University of Nottingham, UK in 2007 where he investigated the effect of the Major House Dust Mite allergen Der p 1 on T-regulatory and Th17 cells in allergic asthma. He completed his MBiostatistics from the The University of Queensland, and the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia where he worked on a project assessing the exploratory and analytical methods employed in longitudinal clinical trials with incomplete primary outcome data. He completed his PhD focused on understanding the mechanism underpinning the pathology of the weakening human aorta, and the development of a drug-based therapy for abdominal aortic aneurysm at James Cook University in 2013. Previously, he worked as a Research Scientist on various clinical trials analysing cellular and humoral immune response of patients treated with the therapeutic cancer vaccine TroVax® (MVA-5T4) with Oxford BioMedica UK, and as a Research Assistant on projects employing combined immunotherapy and chemotherapy for neuroblastoma at the world class Tenovus Research Laboratories, University of Southampton, UK.
