We sincerely welcome Dr. Navid Kashaninejad from Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia, to join the Editorial Board of Advances in Cells. Dr Navid Kashaninejad received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. After winning the prestigious SINGA scholarship from the Singapore Agency for Science, Research and Technology (A*STAR), he completed his PhD studies in 2013 under the supervision of Professor Nam-Trung Nguyen at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. During his PhD studies, he mainly focused on the design and fabrication of various microfluidic devices and fundamentally investigated the fluid mechanics of flow through microchannels. In particular, he introduced a new parameter, termed eccentricity, that could alter the contact angle and drag reduction capabilities of superhydrophobic microchannels. In 2021, he was awarded the prestigious DECRA fellowship from Australian Research Council (ARC). He also has over two years of experience as a postdoctoral researcher at Griffith University and the University of Technology Sydney. Dr Kashaninejad has demonstrated high-quality multidisciplinary research output in microfluidics, especially in organ-on-a-chip and disease modelling. Currently, he is a full member of Queensland Micro and Nanotechnology Centre (QMNC) and ARC DECRA fellow at Griffith University. We appreciate Dr. Navid Kashaninejad for his participation and support.
