We sincerely welcome Dr. Luigi Montano from Azienda Sanitaria Locale Salerno, Salerno, Italy, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Sciences. Luigi Montano, MD, UroAndrologist, Past President Italian Society of Human Reproduction, has his expertise in Environmental Pathology and Lifestyle Medicine. National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in Urology. At present, he is in the Ph.D. Program of Evolutionary Biology and Ecology, University “Tor Vergata”, Rome. His interest is focused on the reproductive health in high environmental risk areas. In fact, he is the creator and Coordinator of EcoFoodFertility project (http://www.ecofoodfertility.it/the-project.html) - multicenter, multidisciplinary research connecting human lifestyle and dietary habits to the environmental consequences of exposure to pollutants with the aim of: i) developing a better understanding of the environmental impact of pollutants on healthy humans in areas with different environmental impacts; ii) use human semen as an early and sensitive biomarker of environmental exposure to pollutants; iii) identify dietary approaches and/or detoxifying therapy in order to improve the human semen quality in healthy men who living in polluted areas. The project is starting up in several environmental risk areas of Italy and draw up a new model of research for Environmental Impact Assessment and for Primary Prevention of Risk Areas. He has numerous publications, several book chapters in national and international journals, and numerous presentations and keynote speeches at national and international conferences. His contributions have been recognized with various awards. Moreover, he actively collaborates with researchers from CNR (National Research Council), ISS (Italian National Institute of Health), universities, and research centers, not only within Italy but also on an international scale, for research on the relationship between Environment and Health. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Waheb A. Jabbar from Birmingham City University, Birmingham, United Kingdom, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Sciences. Waheb Abdullah received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Basrah, Iraq, in 2001, the Master of Engineering (with distinction) in Communication & Computer Engineering and PhD in Electrical, Electronic, and Systems Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia, in 2011 and 2015 respectively. He is registered as Charted Engineer (CEng) under the Engineering Council and IET, UK and a Professional Technologist under Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). He is also an IEEE Senior Member, and he served as chair of the educational activities of the IEEE-UKM Student Branch (2012-2013). Waheb is a MIET member of IET UK, and a member of IEM and BEM, Malaysia. He is currently an Associate Professor in Electrical/Electronics Engineering at the College of Engineering, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment, Birmingham City University (BCU), United Kingdom. His research interests include the Internet of Things (IoT), Wireless Networks, Mobile Communications, and Smart Sensors and Control. He also has a keen interest in Low Power Wide Area Networks such as LoRa Networks and NB-IoT. Previously, he served in different academic, research and administrative positions at Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Malaysia that include: Senior Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Technology, Research Fellow at the Centre for Software Development & Integrated Computing, Coordinator of Senior Design Projects for undergraduate students, and the Head of Advanced Electronics & Automation Research Sector. He also served as a Leader/Member of several research projects in the field of IoT and Wireless Networks and the author of many articles published in prestigious journals, including Experts Systems with Applications, IEEE Access, Sensors, Wireless Networks, Journal of Ambient Intelligence and Humanized Computing and Simulation Modelling Practice and Theory. He also presented numerous papers at international conferences. Dr. Waheb has supervised and co-supervised four PhD, five Masters by research students and many undergraduate project dissertations. He has also been nominated as Internal Examiner for Master's and PhD candidates. He has registered four IPs (Patents/Copyrights) and received a number of Gold/Silver/Bronze medals and research awards from many national and international exhibitions for innovative research, invention & technology. He is an Editorial Board Member of several indexed peer-reviewed journals and he served as TPC chair/member in several international conferences. Waheb is a certified Peer Reviewer from the Publons Academy and serves as a Reviewer of more than 85 prestigious journals indexed by ISI/WoS/Scopus, including IEEE Transactions and Top Q1 WoS-Indexed journals from various publishers (IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley, MDPI, etc.). We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Massoud Kaykhaii from University of Tasmania, Faculty of Science, Engineering & Technology, Sandy Bay, Australia, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Sciences. Massoud Kaykhaii worked at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan (Zahedan, Iran) as a professor of analytical chemistry for 32 years. His research work is focused on modern sample preparation techniques, including µ-solid phase extraction, solid phase microextraction, liquid phase microextraction, and stir bar sorptive extraction. He has published 150 research articles, 3 patents, presented at ca. 150 seminars and conferences, authored three books, wrote 22 national standard procedures of analysis, and (co)supervised more than 100 MSc and PhD theses. He taught almost all courses in analytical chemistry and worked extensively on analyzing ultra-trace amounts of different analytes in various matrices, such as environmental, food, and clinical samples, by using SPME (including conducting polymers and colloidal particles), flat sheet supported membranes, and single drop microextraction, employing GC-MS, HPLC, IC, TLC scanning, and all spectroscopy instruments. He has invented two new sample preparation techniques: salt-saturated single-drop microextraction and micro-cloud point extraction. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of 98 journals and has served as secretary of three national mirror committees of ISO/TC for years. He has finished 25 industrial projects and has been a counselor for 10 companies in Iran. He was awarded the prize for best researcher at the University of Sistan and Baluchestan three times. Clarivate recognized him four times as "top 1 percent of top reviewers" in multidisciplinary, cross-field, and chemistry in 2017, 2018, and 2019, respectively. He was head of the chemistry department and chairman of the Smartphone Analytical Sensors Research Centre. After two years of research at Politechnika Gdańska, Poland, he is currently a senior researcher at the University of Tasmania (Australia), doing research on modern applications of sample preparation. From October 2018 to 2020, engaged in postdoctoral research at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. We sincerely welcome Dr. Patrick G. Verdin from School of Water, Energy and Environment, Cranfield University, Cranfield, United Kingdom, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Sciences. Dr Patrick Verdin is a Senior Lecturer in Energy Fluid Dynamics at Cranfield University. He has more than 20 years of expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) applied to Aerospace (icing), Oil & Gas (multiphase flows, mixing, flow separation, droplet transport, sand erosion), and Renewable Energy (geothermal, wind, tidal). After his MSc gained from the University of Sciences and Technologies of Lille (France), Patrick joined Cranfield University and completed a Ph.D. on Aircraft Icing, working on the development of the numerical ice prediction code ICECREMO2. His research work involved a collaboration with the main aircraft companies in the UK: Airbus UK, BAE Systems, Dunlop Aerospace (Meggitt), Rolls-Royce, QinetiQ, and Westland Helicopters (now AgustaWestland). He then carried out post-doctoral studies in multi-phase flows, working on the development of a CFD droplet transport model for ConocoPhillips (USA), in collaboration with Imperial College London, before becoming Research Fellow in 2008. Patrick became successively Senior Research Fellow, Lecturer, then Senior Lecturer. Throughout his academic career, he has been involved in Research and commercial activities at National and International levels. Several of the recent and current projects he has been leading funded research in, include the European programmes SAFUEL (Safer Fuel System), and EMRP I & II (European Metrology Research Programme), UK-funded research on HOSE (Hydrodynamic Oil Sample Extraction), Forced Convection Heat Transfer in Unconventional Geothermal Systems, Oil-Water Slug Flow in Export Pipelines, and Wet Gas Flowmeter Performance by CFD modelling. He has also been recently involved in the development and the CFD verification of an innovative offshore wind turbine, has been working on the design of wind panels, on the design and CFD study of a particle reduction system, and on numerical studies of oxygen masks. Born in 1976 in Akçaabat district of Trabzon province, Fatih SİVRİKAYA completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Akçaabat. In 1993, he started his education at Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Engineering and graduated in February 1998. Between March and August, he worked as a casual engineer at Kastamonu Regional Directorate of Forestry, Taşköprü Forest Management Directorate. In October 1998, he started his master's degree at Karadeniz Technical University Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Forest Engineering, Division of Forest Management. In February 1999, he started to work as a research assistant at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Faculty of Forestry, Department of Forest Engineering, Department of Forest Management. In August 2000, he was assigned to KTU Institute of Science and Technology for his graduate education in accordance with Article 35 of the Higher Education Law. In 2002, he completed his master's thesis titled "Arrangement of Forest Management Plan in Same Aged Forests with the Help of Geographical Information System" and received the title of Forest Master Engineer and started his doctorate program in the same year. In 2008, Fatih SİVRİKAYA successfully completed his doctoral thesis titled "Development of Forest Management Planning Model Software in Turkey" and started to work as a Research Assistant Doctor at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University in the same year. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Massoud L. Khraiche from Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering & Architecture, American University of Beirut, Beirut, Lebanon, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Sciences. He is currently a Professor in the American University of Beirut Biomedical Engineering program, which is a joint program between medicine and engineering. The program aims at combining the efforts of two the oldest schools in the region to focus on innovation in the field of Biomedical Engineering solutions with focus on biomedical and healthcare applications. In the past five years, he has been in two institutions, AUB and UC San Diego. In the past two years at AUB I established a group focused on developing micro and nanotechnology to for monitoring and/or modulating function of electrogenic cells in-vitro and in vivo and the design and development of biosensors and lab-on-a-chip platforms for point of care diagnostic purposes. We work with UC Sa Diego, on 3D nanopillars for high density intracellular recording from electrogenic cells. The early technology development produced joint manuscript in Nano Letters (impact factor = 12.219). Also, at AUB, they are collaborating with school of medicine to build a BNP point of care sensor that utilizes technology developed as collaboration between AUB and ASU, which resulted in recent manuscript published in Frontiers of Neuroscience, (impact factor = 5.8). In his time at UCSD, he was hired to lead an effort by the Institute of Engineering and Medicine (IEM)in collaboration with the Jacobs Retina Center in the Department of Ophthalmology and 4 groups at the School of Engineering to produce a high density, high resolution, wireless, long-term nanoengineered visual prosthesis for restoring useful vision in blind patients with degenerative retinal diseases. He wrote and submitted several invention disclosures which resulted in two patent applications, won the QUALCOMM/TATARC wireless health challenge grant to build a prototype of the technology. He also authored several manuscripts and helped found a small company that has licensed my patents from UC San Diego and is currently close to human trials. He is also a consultant for imperative care, where work closely with the company on their noninvasive monitoring wearable device for monitoring stroke biomarkers. Dr. Shailesh Narain Sharma, Ex. Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-National Physical Laboratory (NPL) (Dec. 1997-Oct. 2023), New Delhi and AcSIR Professor, is a distinguished researcher with a robust academic background in the Division of Advanced Materials and Devices Metrology. Graduating (B. Sc Hons. (Phys.)) from the University of Delhi (1986) and Masters (M. Sc (Phys.)) from IIT Delhi (1988), he obtained his Ph.D. from Jadavpur University in Jan. 1994 while research work was carried out at Energy Research Unit, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science IACS, Kolkata under the mentorship of Prof. AK Barua and Prof. AK Batabayal, The Ph.D. topic being Studies of structural and optoelectrical properties of amorphous and microcrystalline silicon. He pursued post-doctoral fellowships in University of Barcelona (UOB), Spain (1996-1997) focusing on amorphous silicon, silicon carbide, boron nitride powders, under the guidance of Prof. Enric Bertran in collaboration with LPICM of Palaiseau (France) (Collaborator- Prof. M. She received her PHD from Centrale Nantes in 2012. Then, she joined in 2014 the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (I2M), University of Bordeaux, France. Dr. Louhaichi has earned a Ph.D. and a MSc in Landscape Ecology from Oregon State University, USA. He has also obtained a Ph.D. Minor in Earth Information Science and Technology and a MSc Minor in Statistics. Mounir is also a Fulbright Alumni (Hubert Humphrey Fellowship) from Cornell University (NY, USA) focusing on geospatial technologies. Mounir has extensive experience and knowledge in sustainable natural resources ecology & management, agricultural technology, and international agricultural research and development aimed at reducing food insecurity, poverty, and environmental degradation in developing countries. Dr. Louhaichi has authored more than 120 peer-reviewed journal articles. He is a certified GIS professional with a focus on landscape ecology and its applications for monitoring and assessing rangeland vegetation, herd movement across landscapes, and the impacts of climate change. From 2017 to 2022, Mounir served as vice president of the International Rangeland Congress (IRC) and more recently nominated member of the continuing committee of the International Grassland Congress (IGC) for the Mediterranean region. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Haijun Ruan from Coventry University, Coventry, United Kingdom, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Sciences. Dr. Haijun Ruan obtained the PhD (2019) and Bachelor (2014) degrees in electrical engineering at Beijing Jiaotong University, China. During his PhD period, he was a visiting student researcher with Purdue University, West Lafayette, USA, in 2018. His PhD research activities mainly focused on the modeling, low-temperature heating, and charging for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles and energy storage systems. He got Merit Student of Beijing (2014), National Scholarship (2013, 2014, 2016, and 2018), and Zhixing scholarship (top scholarship for postgraduate students at Beijing Jiaotong University, 2019). In early 2020, he came to the UK to join the University of Southampton as a Research Fellow. In Aug. 2020, he joined the Dyson School of Design Engineering as a Research Associate, working with Dr. Billy Wu, Prof. Gregory Offer, and Dr. Huizhi Wang on multiple research projects at Electrochemical Science & Engineering (ESE) group at Imperial College London. He was supported by the Faraday Institution Industry Fellowship, which allowed him to translate his work on battery diagnostics and control into real-world applications, with the goal of extending battery lifetime. We sincerely welcome Prof. Dr. Khan M. G. Mostofa from Tianjin University, Tianjin, China, to join the Editorial Board of Recent Progress in Sciences. Mostofa received his both Bachelor of Science (1990) and Master of Science (1991) degrees in Chemistry from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Mostofa received his second Master’s degree (2001) from Nagoya University, Japan on Earth Science conducting research in the Lake Biwa watershed on an important issue regarding the interactions and consequences of terrestrial (stream-river) natural organic matter on the lake water; and doctoral degree (2005) from Hiroshima University, Japan in the field of Environmental Dynamics and Management conducting research on Photochemistry along with the dynamics of dissolved organic matter in stream-river ecosystem. Mostofa then joined as a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, 2006–2008. He has then been appointed as Associate Professor in the same Institute on 2008 and worked until December 2014. Mostofa was the founding member to join as a Professor since January 2015 at a newly established– Institute of Surface-Earth System Science (ISESS), Tianjin University which is founded on April 2015. Mostofa worked as key researcher on several international projects, particularly on the Montreal Protocol Project entitled ‘Institutional Strengthening for the Phase out of ODSs in Bangladesh’, 1996–1999, Bangladesh and the global “International Geosphere-Biosphere Program (IGBP)” project, 1999–2001, Japan.
