Topic Scope

Climate change is one of our most significant challenges. Accelerated climate change endangers ecosystems, water resources, food security, public health, and global stability. Increasing temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, glacial melt, and intensified meteorological phenomena are currently impacting both natural and human systems.

Comprehending the intricate implications of climate change is essential for developing effective strategies to mitigate its impacts and adapt to its inevitable effects. Proficiency in this field is crucial for policymakers, researchers, and communities to alleviate vulnerabilities, establish resilient systems, and transition towards sustainable development pathways. This special issue seeks to improve understanding of the interconnected challenges posed by global warming and climate change, while advocating for solutions that integrate science, policy, and practice.

This issue encourages submissions that discuss these topics, looking at both the technical and management sides of climate change and global warming. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Climate science and projections
  • Climate models and their applications
  • Impacts of climate change on humans and the environment
  • Hydrology and water resources under a changing climate
  • Agriculture and food security related to climate change
  • Mitigation, adaptation, and risk assessment
  • Policy, governance, and global collaboration on climate action
