Summary:

This special issue aims to showcase cutting-edge advancements and innovative approaches in the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of head and neck cancers. It seeks to bridge fundamental research, applied R&D&I, and their translation into clinical and surgical practices. By integrating insights from pharmaceutical and technological innovations, along with perspectives from governmental and healthcare policy makers, the special issue aspires to enhance strategies for managing and preventing head and neck cancers. Henceforth, the main objective is to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers, clinicians, industry professionals, and policy makers. Contributions of original research articles, reviews, and perspectives that address the latest developments, help accelerate translation into effective clinical practices and policies,  and future directions in head and neck cancer care, are welcomed.  Submissions that contribute to advancing the field of head and neck oncology and improving patient outcomes are encouraged. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  1. Novel therapeutic approaches and precision medicine
  2. Immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and combination treatments
  3. Advances in surgical techniques and outcomes
  4. Biomarkers, prognostic indicators, and radiomics
  5. Rehabilitation, quality of life issues, and survivorship
  6. Innovations in radiotherapy, proton therapy, and management of radiation-induced damage
  7. Oncolytic viruses and other emerging therapies
  8. Pharmacogenomics, drug development, and nanotechnology applications
  9. Integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning
  10. Health economics, healthcare delivery, and ethical considerations
